CAT owners in the Latchford area of Warrington are again being warned to be on their guard following another shooting incident.
The latest incident, believed to be in the St Mary’s Street area, involved a cat being shot in the head twice.
Local resident Sarah Rowland said: “A warning to people in the Latchford area with cats – some awful sad act is shooting them using an air rifle.
“My poor Billy has had a pellet removed from his head along with a fraction of his ear missing from another pellet. If anybody knows anything can you please let me know it appears to be someone down St Mary’s street.
Billy was shot last Sunday 1 (July 16). He Came home feeling sorry for himself with a bloody ear. Sarah took him vets and he had two pellets removed from his ear and head.

The lunatic, with the air rifle wants catching, prosecuting and sectioning under the mental health act.
They should be detained in an HMP secure unit for a very long time – if not permanently.
Crimes like this are not taken seriously enough and the perpetrators often get away with just a slap on the wrist.
Sarah & Melanie, I am sure there are many people who like me are horrified to hear what has happened to your pets. Perhaps it is time for pet owners to get together to raise funds to bring private prosecutions against the people who commit these evil crimes and to ensure they do not get away with it. Also to petition for air guns to be banned.
