Planners to visit obtrusive extension

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington are to visit the site of a proposed home extension which officers are recommending for refusal.
Ex-Mayor Coun Pauline Nelson believes the proposal should be allowed to go ahead and members of the borough’s development control committee decided to take a look for themselves before reaching a decision.
The proposal involves a house in Kinsale Drive, Birchwood.
Planning officers describe the single storey extension on the front of the house as an “incongruous feature” harming the street scene.
They say the house is already forward of the building line in the street so has a prominent position. The proposed extension would result in an obtrusive feature.
But Coun Nelson says she supports the application – and no objections have been received from neighbours.
