In memory of an RL legend

STUDENTS helped raise £500 towards the Mike Gregory Trust Fund, which was started in memory of the former Warrington Rugby League star by family and friends.
Money was raised by students from both Warrington Collegiate and Wigan and Leigh College, and a cheque was presented to his widow Erica Gregory.
Rugby League teams from the two colleges played the second annual Gregory Cup fixture at Wilderspool in November, and worked hard to raise funds.
The match was organised by Alan Kilshaw and Mike Brogan, who are the lead coaches for the collegiate side this year.
The game was a great success, with Wigan and Leigh retaining the trophy with a high standard of rugby being played despite the cold and wet conditions.
Erica thanked the students for their fundraising work. Both Erica and Mike’s parents took time to accept the cheque and playing shirts donated by the college and Buckley’s restaurant at the collegiate.
Pictured are students Michael Heaton, Annie Carlson and Emily Blunt, with Erica Gregory and Kate Blackmore from Buckley’s restaurant.
