WARRINGTON’S magnificent Paddington Meadows and Local Nature Reserve will be on show to the public on Saturday July 1.
The New Cut Heritage and Ecology Trail group is holding a special event to mark National Meadows Day.
There will be nature walks, bug hunts, children’s treasure trails plus much more, including a chance to take a leisurely stroll along the riverside path and visit the 200 year old ancient hawthorn hedge which
is believed to be the oldest in Cheshire.
There could be a chance to see some of the 69 species of birds recorded in the area last year and also to visit the beautiful reseeded flower meadow as well as seeing many wild flowers and trees along the way.
Organisers are suggesting that if the weather is fine, visitors should take a picnic and rug.
The event starts at 12 noon and continues until 4pm.
Paddington Meadows can be at the bottom of Larkfield Avenue, Woolston, WA1 3LU.
