Firefighters rescue person after chip pan fire

ONE person required hospital treatment after being overcome by fumes following a chip pan fire at a property on Longshaw Street, Warrington.

Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus to enter a first floor flat where there was a fire involving a chip pan during the early hours of this morning.

One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire. A large fan was used to clear the smoke from the property.

Oxygen therapy was administered to one casualty by firefighters, because the casualty was suffering smoke inhalation.

The casualty was then transported to hospital by ambulance.

In another incident on Saturday evening two firefighters wore breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet was used to extinguish a kitchen fire on Jackson Avenue in Fearnhead, Warrington.

A large fan was used to clear the smoke. An ambulance was requested to attend. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots of fire.
