Play again this summer

DESPITE low attendance at a Summer Play Scheme, Stockton Heath Parish Council will give it another go and run it again this year.
Members agreed to support the two-week scheme at a cost of £1,000 for two play leaders.
The scheme runs for two weeks from 10am to 12 noon in the summer, at St Thomas’ Church Hall.
Entrance fee is £1 per child and income raised will go to the parish council.
Poor attendance was reported at the scheme last year.
Clerk Peter Briggs said the scheme would be well publicised with posters, newsletters to schools and in the borough council’s summer brochure.
Chairman Coun Maurice Leslie said: “We should try the scheme for one more year and see how it goes this time.”
