Blazing mattress left leaning on garden gate

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night to deal with a fire involving a dumped mattress in Warrington.
The blazing mattress had been left leaning against a garden gate in Orford Avenue shortly before midnight.
A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the blaze.
Earlier, firefighters were called to Brownhill Drive, Padgate, and used a water backpack and beaters to put out a fire involving a tree.
It is believed the fire was started deliberately and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
