Police clampdown on alcohol related crime in town centre

POLICE are warning visitors to Warrington town centre that there will be zero tolerance to alcohol related crime this weekend – with a dispersal order in place until 10pm Sunday (May 7).

Officers deployed in the town will issue an order to any persons who they believe to be committing or is likely to commit ASB or Crime and Disorder if they were to remain within Warrington Town Centre.

Cheshire Police will NOT tolerate alcohol fuelled crime and disorder.

Orders will be issued to reduce the likelihood of Crime and Anti-Social behaviour from being committed in the area. Any person being issued with a Dispersal Order notice MUST leave the area immediately.

Police made two arrests in the town centre during the early hours of today.

A male was arrested for Threatening Behaviour on Barbauld Street at 1.45am. It is alleged that the male was involved in a fight and was seen swinging punches.

Then at 5.30am another male was arrested after punching another male in the face on Bridge Street.
