A SNEAK thief entered a house at Warrington during the night – and stole a packet of cigarettes and pet store supplies.
The occupier was asleep in bed at the time.
The burglary was at a house in Northway, Longford, sometime between 10pm on Wednesday and 7am on Thursday – and the offender or offenders gained entry through the back garden.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the sneak burglary
PC Joe Davies, said: “I want to appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously but to also remind residents to ensure they protect their homes from burglars.
“With the lighter nights it can leave property more vulnerable to opportunists looking to take advantage therefore I would urge everyone to ensure that windows and doors are closed and locked with personal items stored away out of sight.
“By being extra vigilant it will greatly help householders in reducing their chances of becoming a victim.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 189 of 4 May. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling  Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
