Eleven candidates to contest parish by election

A total of eleven candidates are standing for a by-Election to fill two vacant seats on Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council on Thursday May 18.

The by election follows the resignation of two Councillors in the Westbrook Ward. Polling will take place between 7am and 10pm at the two polling stations within the ward.

Candidates are: Eric Challinor (UK Independence Party), Stephanie Davis (Green), Paul Garner (Labour), David Knapp (Liberal Democrats), Trevor Nicholls (The Collective Thinking Party of Britain), Gareth Rowlinson (Conservatives), Jane Rowlinson (Conservatives), Luke Ryan (Labour), Daniel Warren (Liberal Democrats), Mike Wass (Green), and Ian Wilson (UK Independence Party).

Residents who are eligible to vote in this by election should receive a polling card indicating the polling station where they should vote.

Local politicans will be watching the results with interest to see voting patterns ahead of the June 8 General Election.
