House fire caused by faulty extractor fan

A FAULT on an extractor fan started a fire at a house in Warrington town centre last night.
Fire engines from Warrington,  Stockton Heath and Penketh went to the scene in Henry Street.
A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the blaze and a ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the property.
There were no reports of casualties.
Shortly afterwards, a crew from Stockton Heath fire station went to Grasmere Avenue, Orford, and use a hose reel jet to put out a fire on nearby parkland.
