Mystery man is identified

POLICE have now identified a man found lying unconcious in a field near Warrington earlier this week
But they are not releasing his name until relatives have been informed.
The man – described as being middle-aged and of heavy build – was found lying in a field near the Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station at 4pm on Tuesday.
He is still in a critical condition in Warrington Hospital – although police have not indicated the nature of any injuries.
A police spokesman said an investigation was continuing into how the man came to be in the field in the condition he was.
A number of people have come forward with information, but police say they would still like to hear from anyone who thinks they can help.
