Moore quits Town

WARRINGTON Town manager Paul Moore has resigned to concentrate on his business during the difficult economic times.
He has also been offered a part-time opportunity to coach at Crewe’s renowned coaching academy.
Moore, who runs a plastering business, says he was also disappointed with the team’s poor league form, which was also a contributory factor.
“Concentrating on my business, the coaching opportunity at Crewe and the poor league form are the three reasons I have decided to go,” he said.
“The team has not achieved what I expected it to by this stage in the season. I also need to focus on my business to make sure the finances are right and it is a great opportunity to do some coaching work at Crewe.
“I brought Joey Dunn on board as my assistant and he has some good ideas and lots of enthusiasm. I am sure he can bring a few more players on board if the club decide to keep him on as manager.
“While the club did well in cup competitions it is the league results which have been disappointing.
“I have decided now is the right time to go and I wish the club every success in the future. But I do hope to return to management in the future when the time is right.”
Director of Football Derek Brownbill said: “It was Paul’s decision to go and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking him for his time at the club.”
He said Joey Dunn would take over in a caretaker role until the board of directors could meet up to discuss what was the best option moving forward.
Town have no game this weekend but travel to high-flying Lancaster next Tuesday (Jan 20), kick off 7.45pm.
