A WOULD-BE robber lost his temper when shop staff at Warrington refused his demand to open a till.
He leapt on top of the till, tried to smash it open – and then fled with a small amount of cash.
The raid was at the Co-op store in Lovely Lane, Warrington.
No-one was hurt but customers, including a number of children, were badly shaken by the incident.
Police said the man entered the shop at about 5.20pm yesterday (Thursday) covering the lower part of his face with his hand.
He demanded that staff open the till – and when they refused became very irate and jumped on top of the till.
He eventually left – still showing signs of anger.
Police said he was in his early 20s, slim and about 6ft tall. He was wearing a track suit with three light coloured stripes down the side, black trainers and a Beanie hat.
Anyone who can help police is asked to call DC Mark Nayor or DC Julie Cassie on 01244 615839 or call the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
