WARRINGTON Council for Voluntary Service needs £38,000 within the next three months.
If they can raise it, the Government has pledged to match this £ for £.
The cash is to be used to start an endowment fund – an investment in Warrington’s future for local voluntary and community groups.
The Grassroots Grants scheme has two parts to it.
Firstly there are small grants to local community groups. It is funded by the Government – Office for the Third Sector – but only until March 2011.
The second part needs Warrington CVS to set up an endowment fund to produce the money for grants into the future.
Anyone who can help, or who knows someone who could, is asked to contact Warrington CVS, The Gateway, 89 Sankey Street, Warrington, WA1 1SR or telephone 01925 246880 or email [email protected]

The council, having recently squandered almost £1 million on a set of congestion-causing and unsafe traffic lights are now asking for a donation for a mere £38,000 for voluntary services? Get lost the lot of you.
