40 minute delays after motorway crash

DELAYS of around 40 minutes are reported on the M6 near Warrington after a lorry plunged off the southbound carriageway and became stuck on the motorway embankment.
The crash occurred between Junctions 21a and 20, between Woolston and Lymm.
Fire engines from Stockton Heath and Birchwood were sent to the scene.
Two lanes have been closed and Highways England are warning that it could be 6pm this evening before normal conditions are restored.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
There have been no reports of casualties as yet.
