A giant Christmas card for the Prime Minister

PEOPLE attending a carol concert held near Warrington were invited to sign a giant 4ft Christmas card to the Prime Minister!

The card will be sent to Theresa May to encourage her to ensure that her words and policies reflect the country’s tradition as a nation that welcomes those in need.

The concert ‘’Carols in Wonderland’’ was held by Christian Aid at All Saints Church, Daresbury, to help raise money for the millions of people around the world who are fleeing conflict, violence and instability.

Families from local areas attended, as well as pupils from Daresbury and Moore primary schools. The event included a drama by Stockton Heath Methodist Church about the Holy family being refugees, and a festive performance by local singer, Andrea Evans.

The audience was also shown a film highlighting the work of Christian Aid to support refugees who don’t have a safe home this Christmas.

Working with refugees and displaced people is nothing new for the international aid agency, which was founded 70 years ago to support refugees in the wake of the Second World War, and continues to support those searching for safety today, including people from war-torn nations such as Syria and Iraq.

This Christmas, the agency is urging the UK public to help Light The Way for millions of people worldwide who have been forced to leave their homes through fear and uncertainty in the worst global displacement crisis of our time.
