Local author's historical romance

A HISTORICAL romance written by a Warrington woman has been published as part of the centenary celebrations of publisher Mills and Boon.
“Captain Fawley’s Innocent Bride” is the latest novel by Annie Burrows, from Padgate, who had her first book published by Mills and Boon two years ago.
It tells of plain, shy Deborah who accepts a proposal of marriage from battle-scarred Captain Fawley – a man so remote that she may never be able to reach his guarded heart.
Annie grew to love books as a child when her parents took her to the library every Saturday.
She grew up with a passion for history, fairy tales and telling stories and on leaving school, studied English Literature & Philosophy at university, where she met her future husband.
After their two children had grown up, Annie’s attention returned to writing. Persisting through four rejections and further set backs – including having to return to work to pay for her children’s university fees – Annie’s book “His Cinderella Bride” was finally accepted by Mills and Boon in 2006.
This, her first title, won the Cataromance Reviewers’ Choice Award and spurred Annie on to write more books for Mills & Boon.
Aside from writing, Annie enjoys gardening, travelling and dancing.
