Man, 55, taken to hospital after major search

A MAJOR search, involving police and fire crews using a rescue boat, was mounted at Warrington after a 55-year-old man was reported missing.
Four fire crews, one using a rescue boat, went to the Mersey near the Riverside Retail Park and police searched a wider area.
Eventually the man was found near Weir Lane, Woolston, safe and well. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Although there were concerns at first that he might have been in the river, he had not in fact been in the water.
The search was reported by Warrington-Worldwide last night.
