Hospital lottery

WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery organised by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 1, 10, 11 and 16 – but no-one was lucky enough to have them. As a result the jackpot prize has been rolled over to next week. The £25 consolation prize was won by a member of hospital staff as was the special £50 Christmas prize.

Care home approved

PLANS for the construction of a 60-bed care home with a day centre for communal activities in Bridge Lane, Appleton, Warrington has been given the green light by council planners. The scheme involves the demolition of the existing Chestnut House.

Church reunion

FRIARS Green Independent Methodist Church is holding a reunion service tomorrow (Sunday) at 2.30pm. People who were Christened, married or merely attended the church are invited to attend – and afterward enjoy a get together with a film show about the church’s history.

Barn conversion

BARNS at Oaktree Farm, Hatton Lane, Hatton near Warrington can be converted into offices, planning chiefs have decided.

Caravan storage

PLANNING bosses have approved the use of land at the rear if Ferndale Nurseries, Glazebrook Lane, Glazebrook, Warrington, for caravan storage.
