POLICE at Warrington issued a warning today after two men got away with cash after gaining entry to a house claiming to be from the “water board”.
The offence took place in the Thelwall area and involved two men, both between 5ft 8 inches and 5ft 10 inches tall, of stocky build and aged between 30 and 40
One had dark hair and bad teeth and the other had short fair hair, a hair complexion and wore jeans and a dark jacket.
Both are believed to have spoken with local accents.
They got away with a small amount of cash.
A police spokeswoman said: “People should remember that there is no such thing as the water board any more. They always insist on seeing some form of identification before allowing people into the home and should check with the company involved.”
