Motorway victim was man of 50

POLICE today revealed that the victim in yesterday’s fatal crash on the M62 near Warrington was a 50-year-old man.
His identity has not yet been made known – but police say he was from the York area.
A 19-year-old girl was arrested suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the crash between Junctions 11 and 12 at Birchwood.
A car and a heavy lorry were the only vehicles involved.

Both carriageways were closed at first, causing traffic chaos. Later, Lane One on the eastbound carriageway but traffic was only able to move slowly and there were lengthy tail-backs for hours.
