WARRINGTON North Labour Party have announced 21-year-old Jade Mitchell as their candidate for the forthcoming Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council by-election.

If successful at the by-election on Thursday, December 8 – which is taking place following the resignation of a parish councillor for personal reasons, local resident Jade will become the youngest elected female representative in the town.

Jaded said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to become a parish councillor for Burtonwood and be a voice for local people on the Parish Council. I’ve lived in the village for all of my life. I grew up and went to school here, so I’d relish the chance to be able to represent my home for the Labour Party.

“I’m also keen to ensure that younger members of the community are accurately represented on the Parish Council.

“If I’m elected, I’ll be a voice for everyone and I will deliver on my commitments to be an active, enthusiastic and effective parish councillor.”

A spokesperson from Warrington North Labour Party said:“Jade has a strong track record as an active campaigner in her local community. She is well-known in the village for her organisation of charity events based at the Catholic Club, as well as evenings at the Community Centre in aid of the mental health charity Mind.

“We are delighted that local party members have selected her to represent the Party in this important by-election, and hope that residents will feel able to place their trust and confidence in Labour once again.”

Poll cards will be issued by Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council.
