THE A56 Chester Road northbound was closed this afternoon following an accident on the Daresbury Expressway.
The collision took place at around 3pm and involved a car and a lorry between Junction 11 of the M56 and the Daresbury Expressway.
Fire crews released a man from the car who was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police were advising motorists to avoid the area, with heavy traffic reported.
