One in hospital after kitchen fire

ONE person was taken to hospital at Warrington after being overcome by smoke during a kitchen fire.
The blaze was at a semi-detached house in Chester Road, Warrington and was caused by a chip pan which had caught fire on the cooker in the kitchen.
By the time firefighters from Stockton Heath reached the scene, the fire was out but the property was still heavily smokelogged.  Crews used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the house.
The casualty was treated for smoke inhalation and then handed over to paramedics and taken to hospital by ambulance.
