Town bow out of Trophy

BATTLING Warrington Town bowed out of the FA Trophy as they went down 0-1 at home to higher league Nantwich Town.
Warrington dominated the first half and had a great chance to take the lead when Kevin Towey had a header tipped over the bar by Nantwich keeper Lee Jones.
Young striker Chris Gaghan always looked a threat for Warrington but couldn’t find a way through the visitors defence.
Nantwich started to take control in the second half and Town missed the midfield presence of Ant Daniels who had to be substituted at the break due to illness.
Warrington looked to have done enough to hang on for a draw and a replay but the visitors grabbed the only goal of the game five minutes from time when Glyn Blackhurst headed home from a free kick.
