A night of drink-fueled violence

POLICE were kept busy in Warrington overnight, with a total of nine people arrested for a variety of offences – mostly linked to alcohol.

The action started shortly before midnight when a man was arrested for an alleged assault on a member of staff at a Bridge Street bar.

Twenty minutes after midnight a man was arrested for drunk and disorderly in Chester Road.

A woman was arrested at 1.30am for an alleged assault on two other women in the Fairfield and Howley area and just before 2am a man was arrested for alleged domestic assault at Orford.

Just after 2am two people were arrested for drunk and disorderly offences in the town centre.

Five minutes later a man was arrested for alleged domestic assault at Bewsey.

There was then a lull until 5am when there was an arrest for alleged careless driving and excess alcohol on Winwick Road.

At 6am a woman was arrested for alleged drink driving in the Sankey area.

All the alleged offenders were held in the cells overnight.
