FIREFIGHTERS cordoned off the road outside Woolston Primary School this afternoon as smoke was seen at the premises.
A fire alarm sounding at the school on Epping Drive at 4.45pm today (Tuesday), alerted firefighters to the school building where there was a smell of smoke.
Reports said the building’s electrics were flickering whilst a grid was emitting smoke.
Popping and hissing noises were heard coming from electrical ducting underneath the pavement, which had begun issuing black smoke.
The road was cordoned off as crews began to isolate the electrics.
