Winter market promises bargains

A SPECIAL Winter Market is to be held at Stockton Heath on Sunday, December 7 – offering an opportunity for hundreds of bargains in the run up to Christmas.
The event is being staged by Stockton Heath Festival, following the success of the markets which formed part of the hugely popular festival this summer.
There will be more than 25 stalls, all under cover, in the Mall next to Somerfields on the Forge Shopping Centre.
Local farmers and other producers will be selling produce such as wine, beer, preserves, olives, bread, cheeses, chutney, eggs, etc.
There will also be craft stalls selling wreaths, knitted baby wear and toys, books, jewellery, bags and scarves, artwork and photography.
The Stockton Heath Festival’s stall will be selling Festival Calendars and Diaries as well as Festival Supporters Packs to raise money for the Festival in July next year.
The festival calendar, sponsored by numerous local businesses, is an eclectic mix of images from last summer’s festival, including the scarecrows, as well as some beautiful pictures of the area.
A limited edition of just 2,500 calendars has been produced and in addition to be available at the winter market, can also be obtained by sending £4 (cheques made out to Stockton Heath Festival) to Festival Calendar, 9, Stanley Avenue, Stockton Heath, Warrington, WA4 2DY
Also on sale will be tickets to win a beautiful Christmas Hamper. There will be live music from local acoustic duo Jezebel’s Alibi. Unconfirmed rumours are that if he is not too busy Father Christmas is going call in as well!
With free on site parking and located within walking distance for many people, the festival team is looking forward to seeing everyone there. More details at www.stocktonheathfestival.co.uk
