A VILLAGE’S crime rate shot up – thanks to Halloween pranks.
There were 15 incidents of anti-social behaviour, many put down to Halloween and including a youth climbing on scaffolding on the Cantilever Bridge, Stockton Heath Parish Council was told.
Two cars were damaged and something was thrown at a house window.
There were also six thefts from cars or garages.
A “play fight” got out of hand with someone hit on the head with a roll of cling film.
The incident was reported to police – so went down as an assault.
In the previous month, 13 crimes were recorded in Stockton Heath.
