Man rescued from stream

A MAN was rescued from a swift flowing stream at Warrington in a joint operation by police, fire and ambulance services.
The man was pulled from Sankey Brook, near Hesketh Street North, Sankey Bridges shortly before 9.30pm last night.
Three fire engines from Warrington and Stockton Heath were involved in the operation and two firefighters using swift water equipment and an inflatable platform rescued the man from shallow water.
He was then handed over to the care of paramedics, although he is not thought to have been seriously harmed.
