Town hold league leaders

WARRINGTON Town earned a creditable

1-1 home draw with table toppers Ossett Albion and were unlucky not to

grab all three points at Cantilever Park.
Ossett dominated the first half with some neat passing

moves but stout defending from Town’s back four kept them at bay.
In the second half Warrington substitute Kevin Towey came on in the

60th minute and immediately made a big impact as his pass found substitute

Chris Gahgan who came on in the 70th minute and scored with his first touch, as his effort went through the legs of Neil Bennett in the Ossett goal on 71 minutes.
But Town failed to hang on to their lead when Ossett

replied with a free kick on 80 minutes when David Dickinson’s shot

flew in to the net leaving Richard Mottram stunned has he made no attempt to

save.
But Francis Smith should of given the points to Town when he was through on

goal in the closing stages as his effort went straight to the keeper.
But again Warrington belied their lowly league position.
