A WARRINGTON student has been chosen to play for the England Rounders squad.
Amy Quayle, a pupil from St Bede’s College, South Manchester, has been selected to play for the team along with two of her friends from the college.
She has been selected as a backstop for the U15 squad, while her friends Caragh Keane and Isabelle Renehan have been selected as bowlers for the U13 England squad.
Amy said: “This is my third year in the England squad so although I was a bit apprehensive I was not too nervous at the trials. I was really happy to get the call up call again.
“I have already played matches against Scotland, Wales and Greece. My college is hosting an international tournament next May which I cannot wait for.”
College head of girls PE Nicky McCormack said “We are delighted for the girls selected for the England Squad, they are very talented players. St Bede’s has an excellent reputation for school sport and we were National rounders finalists in 2008 and national netball finalists in 2005.”
