Arsonists strike twice

ARSONISTS struck twice during the night – continuing the current spate of incidents of vandalism in the Warrington area.
A portable office building was set alight on Europa Boulevard on the Gemini Retail Park – along with a nearby skip.
And another skip was set alight in Thornycroft Drive, Warrington, near to the Sainsbury store.
The portable building – the site security office – and its contents were badly damaged but apart from that the only damage was to the contents of skips.
But a Fire Service spokesman said: “These incidents are more serious than they might appear because they could be diverting us away from other more serious fires.
“Lives could be lost if a house fire broke out while we were out dealing with an arson attack on a skip.”
Previous arson attacks in the recent past have hit both the Gemini and Alban retail parks.
