Morley commits to Wolves

WARRINGTON Wolves have received a major boost with club captain Adrian Morley, 31, agreeing to take up the one year extension on his contract, meaning he will stay with the club until at least the end of the 2010 season.
Morley’s original three year was due to end at the end of next season, however his form has been sensational with him winning club player of the year last season.
The club and player were keen to extend the England international’s stay past his 33rd birthday.
Wolves Chief Executive Andy Gatcliffe commented: “Adrian has been a fantastic ambassador for the club and rugby league, on and off the field. He’s a true leader and we’re delighted he has agreed to extend his stay with us.”
Morley joined the Wolves from Sydney Roosters in 2007 making 46 appearances for the club, scoring two tries.
Meanwhile homegrown duo Chris Riley and Lee Mitchell have agreed new three-year deals. Both youngsters have impressed for the Wolves during 2008, which has led to the club offering them deals until the end of 2011.
The duo are Squadbuilder backed players that have come through the local service area and academy system. Second row forward Mitchell, 20, is delighted he has secured his future with the Wolves:“It’s good for me and it takes a little bit of pressure off for next year,” he said.
“I’ve just got to keep looking forward and improving. Over the next few years I want to secure a regular spot in the first team with one eye on international honours with England in the future.”
