LINDSAY Hoyle – son of former Warrington MP Lord Doug Hoyle – has been appointed assistant to North West Regional Minister Bev Hughes.
Mr Hoyle, Labour MP for Chorley, will help co-ordinate the Labour Party’s North West campaigns, with a special emphasis on economic issues.
He said: “I’m proud to be taking this role on. We live in very challenging times because of the global economic situation.
“We must make sure that we do all we can to protect jobs across all sectors of the economy; public, private and voluntary.
“Maintaining support for small and medium sized business, of which there are a great number across the region, will be an important priority.”
Bev Hughes, a former borough councillor at neighbouring Trafford, said: “I’m really pleased that Lindsay Hoyle is working with me in my role as Regional Minister.
“Lindsay is a very hardworking MP, steeped in and committed to the North West and his experience will be invaluable.”
