VIDEO: LYMM’S annual Historic Transport Day appeared to go with military precision as event organiser Alan Williams enjoyed a ride through the village centre on a tank!
Despite grey skies the rain stayed away for the main event as a wide variety of vintage vehicles, and some not so vintage, travelled through the village centre and on to the May Queen field.
Traction engines, tractors, classic cars, motorbikes, mopeds and various other vehicles joined the parade as Town Crier Peter Powell provided a running commentary.
The spectacular event, which was helping raise fiunds for the Lymm Heritage Project, concluded the Lymm Festival activities.
Special guests included the Mayor of Warrington Cllr Faisal Rashid, who enjoyed seeing the replica spitfire.
The event concluded with Historic boats travelling down the Bridgewater Canal, celebrating the 300th birthday of canal creator, James Brindley.
