A 15-year-old boy who does voluntary work with disabled and underprivileged children has been named as the latest winner of the Mayor of Warrington’s Young Citizen Award.
Chris Manning, from Great Sankey, received his award from Mayor and Mayoress Graham and Elaine Welborn.
The award is presented to young people between the ages of seven and 18, who have gone the extra mile for their neighbour, school or town. It focuses on achievement, good citizenship and service to others.
Chris is a youth volunteer for the Warrington Association for Special Children and does a lot of work in the community with disabled and underprivileged children.
The Young Citizen Award is made monthly and the Mayor is seeking nominations for the next winner.
In May, all the winners will be put forward for a grand final at the Town Hall to decide who is the Young Citizen of the Year.
Application forms can be downloaded from www.warrington.gov.uk/councilanddemocracy or by contacting the Civic Office, Town Hall, Sankey Street, Warrington WA1 1UH.
The closing date for applications for the monthly awards is by midday on the first Friday of each month, and the award winner will be announced during the month.
