How to get the feel good factor

FREE complementary therapy advice and help about how to tap into the “feel good factor” will be available at a special event in Warrington to mark World Mental Health Day tomorrow (Friday).
The event at The Old Fish Market in Warrington town centre is being run by NHS Warrington, the borough council and the 5 Boroughs Partnership.
One in four people will experience mental health problems at some time in their lives and World Mental Health Day, which has been celebrated annually since 1992, is aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues and providing people with information on how to look after their own mental health.
The theme of tomorrow’s event is “Ten Steps to Wellbeing” and these steps have been developed to help people protect their mental health.
They are: ‘talking about your feelings’, ‘keeping psychically active’, ‘eating well’, ‘helping yourself’, ‘doing something creative’, ‘taking a break’, ‘learning new skills’, ‘getting involved and making a contribution’, ‘drinking alcohol in moderation’ and ‘caring for yourself and others’.
Members of staff from Warrington’s Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) will be demonstrating to passers-by how food and colours can both affect moods.
Other staff will be encouraging the public to get involved with ‘doing something creative’ by making miniature figures of themselves and creating pieces of art.
