A councillor has hit out at fly tippers who have dumped builders rubble on a leafy path way at Appleton, Warrington.
Local councillor Judith Wheeler says the fly tipping at Appleton between Witherwin Avenue and Lumb Brook Road will cost the council at least £1,000 to remove.
It involves builders rubble and a burnt tree trunk.
Cllr Wheeler said: “Whoever did this knew exactly what they were doing – they knew they wouldn’t be observed.”

Blimey…that’s must have been dumped by a pretty big vehicle or taken a lot of trips. Shame on whoever did it !!
How do the council arrive at £1000 to clear it though? Is that based on the number of skips they may have to hire to fill with it and/or internal council workers wages/hours plus their vans?
Seems like fly tipping is on the increase as round our way we have all sorts in the backs including bed mattress, doors, plant pots, kids swing, gas bottles….I could go on and on. I took pictures of them all a few weeks ago when I went for a walk so will see if they are still all there tomorrow and will upload it they are. Lazy residents half the time round here though even though we do have a local tip. Pain that it shuts at 4pm every day now though rather than 8pm due to council changes and cut backs when a lot of people work though I guess. Still no excuse thougha as there’s always weekends !!!
