VANDALS have again been causing problems for the fire service at Warrington.
Firefighters were called to Linnet Close, Houghton Green this afternoon after a mattress was set on fire in a field.
Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze, which had been started deliberately.
Anyone with information about how the fire started is asked to call police on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
Early this morning, firefighters were called to Mort Avenue, Warrington where a quantity of rubbish was on fire at the rear of a community centre.
They used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
