Shop to become flats

0

COUNCILLORS at Warrington have agreed to allow a ground floor shop to be converted into two flats – against the advice of planning officers.
The scheme involves the former St Rocco’s Hospice charity shop in Reynolds Street, Latchford.
Two first floor flats above the shop will not be affected, other than for internal modifications but a bicycle store will be built at the rear.
Officers argued that the scheme would add to the existing over-supply of housing in the Warrington area and there was no evidence of unsuccessful marketing for continued commercial use of the shop.
But the committee voted to allow the change of use to go ahead.
