Woman arrested after horror crash

A WOMAN pedal cyclist was killed and her husband left critically injured at Warrington after they were involved in a horrific collision with a 4X4.
The tragedy occurred on Saturday on the A50 Kingsway North, close to its junction with Farrell Street.
A woman, understood to be the driver of the 4X4, has been arrested and questioned by police following the incident.
The dead woman, has been named as Sharon Corless, aged 42, from Warrington. She and her 46-year-old husband were riding their cycles in Kingsway North when the collision occurred.
A black Range Rover Sport was in collision with the cycles and afterwards with a red Peugeot.
The couple were rushed to Warrington Hospital where Mrs Corless subsequently died of her injuries.
Her husband remains in a critical condition.
Police are seeking witnesses of the collision. Anyone who can help is asked to call 01244 613813.
