WARRINGTON’S newest singing sensation took another step towards stardom when she hit a local recording studio to lay down four impressive tracks.
Lucie Evans, 15, a pupil at Birchwood High School, recently took top spot in a “Warrington’s got talent” competition in front of a 9,000 strong Warrington Wolves crowd at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Part of the prize was a chance to record four of her favourite songs at a local recording studio.
She chose tracks from Leona Lewis, Take That, Gnarls Barkley and Jennifer Rush.
Now, she’s set for another star turn. Officials from the Rugby Football League were so impressed by Lucie’s performance that they have asked her to perform a 10-minute set at the National League Grand Finals on Sunday 28th September.
Peter Thompson, owner of sponsors Domino’s Pizza Warrington said: “She was consistently brilliant throughout the competition and has done Warrington proud by impressing the RFL! We wish our very own Leona Lewis the best of luck in the future.”
