Police in a flap over 5ft bird!

RESIDENTS – and the police – were in a flap at Warrington over reports that a giant bird was at large.
First police reported that the bird – a rhea, sometimes known as the American ostrich – had escaped from its owners in Holcroft Lane, Culcheth.
They warned that although the owners of the 5ft tall bird claimed it was non-aggressive, members of the public should not approach it but should inform the police or the RSPCA,
They said the bird, similar to an ostrich or an emu with white feathers and “big claws” had escaped from its owner.
Then they announced that the bird had been caught and returned safely to its owner.
But then they said the miscreant bird – which is a South American species – had in fact only been spotted in a field near to its home and was still at large.
So the hunt for the monster bird continues.
