Festival success set to be repeated

FOLLOWING on from the phenomenal success of the first ever Stockton Heath Festival earlier this year, organisers are delighted to announce that they will be hosting the festival again next year.
After the fantastic numbers that turned up to the 25 events over the weekend last July – it was obvious to all involved that there was resounding support and demand to run the event again.
The second festival of art, performance and culture will take place over four days, Thursday 9th – Sunday 12th July 2009.
Organisers are keeping quiet on plans but say that they will look to repeat some of the very popular events as well as
introducing a mixed and varied program of new events to keep the festival new and exciting.
Meanwhile Coun Tudor Pole, who came up with the original idea of the festival, told members of the local parish council all events were successful and well attended. There was about £7,000 left in the fund, to go toward’s next year’s event.
Coun Pole said: “Everything went better than I could have thought.”
He said several events had been organised to raise funds for local charities.
Organisers had learned from their mistakes and improvements would be made next year.
Organisers were applying for charity status to give them a better chance of obtaining grants and to avoid paying VAT.
Coun Wendy Emsley sad: “There was a lovely atmosphere during the festival. It really brought people together.”
