A SCHEME offering free summer swims in Warrington was “very successful” according to the leader of the borough council.
Coun Ian Marks told a meeting of full council that 25,500 people took part compared with 22,000 last year – marking a 12.5 per cent increase.
He said the figure was a third up on attendances for 2006.
