College hosts nine Mayors!

A WARRINGTON college hosted a group of special visitors including a party of nine Mayors from the Czech Republic.
The Mayors and other guests spent two days at Warrington Collegiate when they met students and toured the £27m facility looking at the variety of courses on offer.
Students in the catering department prepared a special dinner for the Mayors with a Czech theme.
The visit was part of a twinning agreement between Warrington and the Czech town of Nachod. The Mayors also visited other parts of the town.
Warrington struck up a twin town agreement with Nachod in the Czech Republic in 1992 when a party travelled across Europe with a coach load of English books to help the country develop after the “velvet revolution” when it broke away from the shackles of communist Russia.
Paul Hafran, Principal, said: “We were delighted to welcome the Mayors to the Collegiate. This has been a wonderful
experience for both the students and staff at the Collegiate and our visitors.
“Our students have been able to learn first-hand about Czech traditions and cultures and we hope this visit can be
repeated in future years with the opportunity for our students to travel to the Czech too.”
