SKIPPER Adrian Morley was the big winner with a hat-trick of awards at Warrington Wolves’ End of Season Dinner and Presentation Night.
The Prop forward was awarded the Players’ Player of the Year, Vice Presidents Player of the Year and the overall Wolves Player of the Year awards.
A proud Morley commented: “ I’m delighted to pick up these awards. Since becoming captain I have tried my best to lead by example. I’m just hoping after a big season I don’t miss the biggest game of the year this weekend through injury.”
Leading the praise for his skipper was Wolves coach James Lowes: “ He’s been massive for us this year. He’s done everything I have asked of him and more. With that said there are no bronze medal winners in my squad. This group is all gold medal winners for me. They have been fantastic and it’s an honour to coach them.”
Other winners on the night included Chris Hicks, a record breaker in his first season at the club, picking up the Back of the Year award, similarly Paul Rauhihi picked up the top forward gong.
Lee Mitchell was awarded Foundation Player of the Year for his fantastic work within the community and Lee Briers won a special award from the Supporters Trust in recognition of his 11 years service at the club.
Despite receiving a two match suspension earlier in the night, Rob Parker had something to smile about when the Wolves staff voted him Clubman of the Year.
Wolves Ireland international, Tyrone McCarthy was named as Reserves Player of the Year following some storming performances after coming back from a serious knee injury.
Finally, Academy coach, Gary Chambers presented Liam Hulme with the Academy Player of the Year award, after a fantastic opening season for the son of former Wolves skipper Paul Hulme.
The night was compared and hosted by Sky Sports’ Angela Powers and the club wish to thank her and all the sponsors, guests, staff, coaches, Supporters Trust and players who made the night such a success.
Log on tomorrow (Thursday) for an exclusive video interview with Morley.
