Homes approved on garage site

OUTLINE plans for a development of six two and-a-half storey houses on the site of the former Lymm Service Station, in Booths Hill Road, have been given the green light by planners.
The borough council’s development control committee approved the scheme despite an objection from Coun Sheila Woodyatt and a nearby resident.
Councillors were told that a similar application was approved in 2004 and the new plan effectively renewed the previous consent.
There would be a block of six dwellings served from a single access off Booths Hill Road with communal car parking in front of the properties and separate garden areas at the rear.
Coun Woodyatt argued that two and-a-half storey houses would have an overbearing impact on adjoining properties and would be out of character with the area.
